Add names and spin the wheel!

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Wheel of Names spinner.

The Wheel of Names is a free, browser-based random name picker. You enter a list of names or items, spin the colourful wheel, and it randomly selects a winner. It's perfect for classrooms, raffles, giveaways, team meetings, party games, and any situation where you need a fair, impartial random selection.
Yes! The wheel uses the browser's crypto.getRandomValues() API, which draws from cryptographically secure, hardware-level entropy sources. This means every spin is genuinely unpredictable and fair. It's the same technology used in secure password generators.
Type a name in the text box and press Add or hit Enter. You can also use the Bulk tab to paste a list of names (one per line) and add them all at once. The wheel updates in real time as you add or remove entries.
Yes. In the winner popup, click Remove & Spin Again to automatically remove the winner and spin immediately. You can also go to the Style tab and set After Win to Remove Entry to do this automatically every time.
There is no hard limit. The wheel works well with 2 to 100+ entries. With very large lists the text on each segment becomes smaller, but the spinner remains fully functional and fair.
Yes! The tool is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. You can tap the wheel or the Spin the Wheel button to start a spin. The layout adapts automatically to smaller screens.
Yes! Open the Style tab in the panel on the right. You can choose from several colour palettes, adjust the spin duration (1–8 seconds), change the text size, and decide what happens to an entry after it wins.
Completely free, with no registration, no account, and no paywalls. All features are available to every user at no cost.
All your data stays in your browser's local storage — nothing is sent to a server. Your list of names is saved automatically so it's still there when you revisit the page.
